Job summary
Are you a Consultant who has an interest of working in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry? We are looking for a Consultant to join our Poole CAMHS team.
As a Consultant you will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team, alongside a clinical service manager, team leads and consultant colleagues. Medical leadership is valued within the team and there is recognition that effective leadership improves all aspects of a service. Clinical aspects of the post arise from an overall role to lead the team in the provision of effective assessment and treatment services for patients aged up to 18 years. All referrals to community CAMHS are screened and assessed by the Gateway team before being passed on to Specialist CAMHS if appropriate. As a senior professional, your role will naturally include activities supporting both direct clinical contacts, and service delivery.
It is essential that you will be expected to maintain Section 12 (2) and be an Approved Clinician.
This role is full-time, part-time hours of a minimum of 30 hours would be considered. You must be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
We can provide a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 if you are interested in moving to Dorset.
We offer a recruitment and retention payment of £10,000 to be paid in monthly instalments for the first year of employment.
Main duties of the job
Do you have a friend or family member you would recommend to join us? Or do you know someone who wants to return to practice in the NHS? If the person you refer is appointed by the Trust and completes their probationary period you will receive £500 reward payment for the introduction!
The role includes a focus on supporting improvements in the process of transition to the adult mental health services as and when appropriate.
Everyday you'll have the opportunity to make a long-lasting difference and the privilege of working with young people in the local community. You'll encounter stimulating challenges and endless rewards; opportunities to create change and transform lives; teams fuelled by collaboration; and a culture that fosters innovation and values a diverse and inclusive workplace.
There would be scope to take up posts within the Medical Leadership Team including Medical Education for 1 or 2 PA if a non-clinical role is of interest to you.
We welcome discussions or informal visits to meet the team and see what the role entails. We are committed to enabling flexible or part time working and also welcome a discussion on how this could be achieved for you. If you are interested please email Dr Anu Devanga, CAMHS Lead Consultant - anu.devanga@nhs.net to arrange.
