We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable Support Time Recovery Worker (STRW) at Band 4, who wants to work with our dynamic and supportive team. STRW's are an important component of the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) service model and provide a valuable source of support to both the patients and practitioners. The role provides the opportunity and time to use your skills to develop rapport and trusting relationships with patients, which is at the core of the team's approach.

Bournemouth East CMHT is a busy, friendly service providing support and on-going care for people with severe mental illness (SMI) .

You will need to bring some experience of working with people with SMI in a variety of settings, including a person's community and home environment. Consideration will also be given to applicants who can demonstrate transferrable knowledge and skills, for instance gained in an in-patient setting.

Main duties of the job

The CMHT employs a whole team approach. Along with other members of the team you will be involved in discussing, formulating and delivering individualised plans in the community. You will need to be able to work creatively and flexibly to deliver a high standard of care that promote a person's own health, well-being and recovery.

You will need excellent communication skills and be competent working with patients, carers, families, MDT's and a wide range of agencies.

You will need to be able to work under pressure.

In return for your enthusiasm we can provide an opportunity for you to develop your clinical skills in a supportive team with regular supervision and appraisals.

As the service covers the geographical area of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, the ability to drive your own vehicle is essential. You may also be expected to transport patients on occasions.

Under the direction of registered / qualified staff the STRW will assist in the provision of clinical care of adults with severe mental illness. They will be expected to professionally promote patients' recovery in the community whilst concurrently working within the perimeters of legislation, policy and procedures.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
