We would like to welcome an experienced Band 6 Minor Injuries Practitioner to work in our busy, friendly team within our Minor Injuries Unit. This is a part-time post, and will include working some weekends and Bank Holidays.

The unit is open 7 days a week throughout the year

Are you a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Practitioner with at least 2 years' experience of working in emergency and/or minor injury/ailment care?

Working in the Minor Injury Units in our friendly community hospital, the unit serves the local communities in North Dorset, and surrounding area.

You will be working as an autonomous practitioner within the Minor Injuries Unit assessing, treating, referring or safely discharging home any patients both adult and children attending the units.

Recognising and taking appropriate actions in an emergency situation.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner within the Minor Injuries Unit

To assess, treat, refer or discharge any patient attending the Minor Injuries Unit

To recognise and take appropriate actions in an emergency situation.

To take clinical responsibility for patients, carers, students and other junior health professionals

To be able to provide health promotion to patients

Maintain a high quality of care for all patients attending the unit

Facilitate access of patients into secondary or community care settings as appropriate
