Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Weymouth & Portland Admin Team, supporting the District Nursing Team at Weymouth Community Hospital.

The post holder will be a pivotal point of contact for healthcare professionals accessing the District Nursing service and as such you will need to have a friendly approach and be able to build effective working relationships between yourself, colleagues, GP Practices and outside representatives, demonstrating discretion and confidentiality at all times. As a result we are looking for the successful candidate to be approachable with the ability to work systematically and under pressure. Previous experience of using SystmOne is beneficial but not essential.

Main duties of the job

To provide a friendly, safe, and efficient service to support the delivery of excellent patient care.

To ensure that all contacts with the service are dealt with in a friendly, empathetic, and professional manner.

To deal with confidential, contentious, and urgent material proactively in a sensitive and appropriate manner, exercising analytical skills and sound judgement.

Work as part of an efficient and professional team.

To work systematically and develop communication networks that contributes effectively to the service provided.

Knowledge, Skills & Training

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of data protection and patient confidentiality.
  • Recent previous experience of arranging meetings and minute taking

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Administration or Customer Service.

  • Experience of working in an administrative role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively

Desirable

  • Experience of working with or within the NHS in a same or similar role.
