Job summary

Are you an aspiring Audiologist?

If so, Dorset Healthcare, are looking for two highly motivated individuals who want to become an Audiologist through the Degree Apprenticeship programme.

This programme provides the opportunity for you to combine working and studying, gaining hands on experience at the same time as earning a salary. The programme, when successfully completed, will lead to a BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Science (Audiology).

We are looking for people who have a passion and a desire to start or further develop their career in Audiology in Dorset.

There is one position available in Weymouth and one in Bournemouth.

You must be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment, and respect in line with the NHS values and behaviours as well as flexibility to work across more than one site.

As an apprentice you would work along side the current team members building your knowledge and gaining experience with a view to working towards providing Audiology services to hearing impaired people.

The post will be either based in Weymouth or Bournemouth, however from time to time you may be required to attend clinics across Dorset.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job

To develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of an Audiologist. Through your apprenticeship within the service as well as through completion of the Audiology Apprenticeship training programme which is through Aston University. This includes working in clinic and community care settings, and delivery of direct person-centred care. Whilst undertaking this training you will work within the service as an Audiology Apprentice, where your role will reflect your learning.

The Audiology Apprenticeship Programme combines and integrates academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers.
