Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work within Dorset Leg Ulcer Service.

We have a vacancy for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to work 7 hours per week within the service on Mondays and Thursdays at the Village Surgery Leg Ulcer Clinic from 12:00-15:30

Support andtraining will be given.

There would also be ampleopportunities to work extra hours on a bank contract to cover annual leave and sickness within team.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job

Working with key individuals, the post holder will be responsible for:

  • The ongoing development for the nurse led complex leg ulcer management service
  • Provide evidence based professional advice on all aspects of Leg Ulcer management to patients and their carers
  • Asses, plan, implement and evaluate evidence based nursing care
  • Deliver leg ulcer care within DHUFT, in accordance with RCN guideline

This job entails working alongside a healthcare support worker to see patients at the Village Surgery leg ulcer clinic, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating leg ulcer care.
