Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Capital Project Manager to join our supportive Capital Planning Team.
You will assist with the delivery of the Trust Capital Programme and act as the lead specialist for mechanical and electrical design. You will be responsible for managing a variety of Capital schemes from inception through to final completion, including new, refurbishment and back log schemes. You will work within a well-established and highly regarded team who value supporting each other to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will be working closely with the Head of Capital Planning, other Capital Project Managers within the team and offer advice and guidance to clinical colleagues and other staff to ensure full benefits realisation of Capital projects. You will also work with the Estates Operational team to ensure expected standards of installation and design are met to ensure the best possible Estates environments are achieved for the benefits of our patients and staff.
The Capital Project Manager post is a full time role . A master's degree in an Engineering Building Services related subject or equivalent level experiences with demonstrable technical knowledge of Estates services, including Electrical, Mechanical ad Building expertise is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job
Working within the Capital Planning Team, with the wider Estates and Facilities directorate, you will be responsible for the delivery of minor and major capital schemes and act as the lead specialist for mechanical and electrical design. This will require liaison and engagement with colleagues at all levels of the organisation with regard to the delivery of Capital projects, ensuring that all standards are met.
You will assist with the overall delivery of the Capital programme, reporting any issues that may prevent projects being delivered on time. You will also ensure approval processes, the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions (SFI's) and Standing Orders (SO's) are fully adhered to.
You will be accountable for the design of identified Capital projects, with awareness of financial constraints, working to best practice guidance and developments and be involved in the development of the annual operational capital programme.
The role is varied, demanding and very rewarding and will require you to make judgements and generate innovative solutions across a range of estates issues, which will benefit patients and staff.
