Are you a qualified Adults and Paediatric Audiologist looking to join a supportive growing team based in Bournemouth? Our Audiology service is going through an exciting time as East and West Dorset Audiology integrate, to become one Dorset Audiology Service.
The function of the Audiology Service is to reduce disability due to deafness. We provide complex services for patients in balance, tinnitus, adults with learning difficulties, ENT and we also have a full complement of paediatric audiology services.
As an Audiologist you will be well-motivated, flexible, clear communicator and provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service for our adult patients. You will have a BSc in Audiology or equivalent and a year's clinical experience and/or university clinical placement. You will already be able to make accurate clinical decisions and will work both autonomously, as well as part of a diverse team.
There will be opportunities for peer support and personal development. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual wishing to work in a dynamic NHS team, who wants to develop their skills and knowledge further, particularly with non-routine NHS caseloads.
This post is a full-time weekday post, however we would also welcome part time applicants (minimum of 15 hours) and we would be flexible with how hours are met. You would be focused on the East Dorset Hub, base in Bournemouth and other community sites around the local area.
Main duties of the job
You will contribute by accepting responsibility for the audiological care of adult patientshearing problems, participating in clinical supervision and maintaining their own professional development including knowledge and skills needed to accommodate changes in technology and clinical procedures. You will assist with specialist clinical tasks and consult with the Audiology Manager on changes to this Job Description.
