Job summary
Are you a B5 Occupational Therapist now looking to work towards a B6 position or someone who is already at Band 6 level and seeking a new opportunity?
We are happy to announce that we have an OT position at Alderney Community Hospital and are committed to offering someone a more supported role if you are looking for developmental opportunities or a first Band 6 role.
The Alderney inpatient rehabilitation therapy team provide rehabilitation for patients within the community hospital and discharge to assess beds across Bournemouth and Poole. The post will involve managing a case load of patients for a period of assessment and rehabilitation, optimising function and supporting their transition back home. The cohort of patients offers experience of working with wide ranging pathologies including orthopaedics, frailty, amputees, PD and neurological conditions. You will work closely with MDT colleagues and the wider therapy team to complete multifactorial assessments and comprehensive treatment plans.
Being a car driver and having access to a car for work purposes is essential for this role.

Band 5 Salary £28,407 - £34,581
Band 6 Salary £35,395 - £42,618
Main duties of the job
If you are a developing Band 5 OT you would start the post at Band 5 level, initially working towards the Band 5 competencies, before moving onto the Band 6 competencies and transitioning into a Band 6 position when you a ready.
If you are already a practicing Band 5 or Band 6 OT and ready for a Band 6 post then you could commence in the role at a Band 6 level, this will be determined through the application and interview process.
This role requires the OT to provide specialist assessments, care and interventions and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team.
Completion of home visits and equipment provision with relevant risk assessments and care plans.

The hours of work are flexible; full time and part time hours up to 37.5 hours per week can be considered and would include being part of a rota at weekends and bank holidays.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
