Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 or a development Band 5 to Band 6 Occupational Therapist within STRIVE working. The development role is suitable for an experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist who has an interest in working with people with personality difficulties as they progress out of prison and resettle into the community. If currently a Band 5, support and training will be provided to the suitable applicant to enable them to achieve the Band 6 role.

STRIVE is an Intensive Integrated Risk Management Service (IIRMS), which sits within the wider national Offender Personality Disorder Pathway. The role is part of a small psychologically led multiagency team. There is a strong emphasis on supervision, CPD and training. Research and service development projects are actively encouraged and supported.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated experienced Band 5 / Band 6 Occupational Therapist. Applicants must demonstrate a genuine desire to work with personality disordered offenders and commit to delivering the highest quality care using national quality standards and evidence-based practice. As a member of STRIVE Team, the successful applicant will be expected to work autonomously across the community in both 1:1 session, delivering groups and in-reaching into prisons. They will be able to demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge under pinning forensic occupational therapy and an ability to demonstrate intervention planning, implementation and evaluation of intervention using evidence-based principles. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of risk assessment and managing risk effectively when working with personality disordered offenders to support functional skill development and community resettlement.
