This is an exciting opportunity for a full time Consultant Psychiatrist to join the integrated Christchurch and Southbourne CMHT and play a key leadership role in influencing the development of our existing service, in line with the Long Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework.

Main duties of the job

The Christchurch and Southbourne Community Mental Health Team is a large multidisciplinary team with a mix of highly experienced and skilled staff, and new staff who are bringing drive, creativity, and new ways of working. We have plans to move into new dedicated premises and expand the services we currently offer to patients and their families.

As part of its integrated service for service users on CPA and Standard Care, the team already offers various services such as Physical Health Checks Service, Depot and Clozapine Clinics, Social inclusion work (Employment support and Support, time and recovery workers), designated Duty service and psychological therapies (including a DBT pathway and individual therapy).

We have recently expanded our physical health offer and are moving towards closer partnership working with Primary care and Psychological Services. We have a close working relationship with the Local Authority and there is a high level of support from the Team Leader, Service Manager and Lead Consultant.

Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
