Job summary

This is a post for a full time (10PA's) consultant psychiatrist working in Poole, Dorset. The post holder will work within the Poole North CMHT based at Alderney Hospital, which provides comprehensive community-based services to patients registered with general practitioners within the north Poole area.

This post attracts aRecruitment and Retention payment of £10,000to be paid in monthly instalments for the first year of employment.

Main duties of the job

There is an opportunity to recruit a full-time consultant psychiatrist to work within Poole North CMHT. The post holder will work alongside another 0.6 wte part time consultant colleague to deliver these services in Poole. The total over 65 population is approximately 27,500 and there are no inpatient responsibilities.

The consultants will provide clinical leadership to Poole CMHT and provide cross-cover for one another. In addition, they will be supported by 1.0 WTE of a ST4-6 psychiatric trainee and 1.0 WTE of a CT1-3 trainee.

Jointly, with the senior medical colleagues and staff in the Poole CMHT, the post holder will provide specialist Consultant input into the working of the Community Mental Health Team
