Dorset Health Care is the first mental health trust providing community services in the South to be given an Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and one of only a small handful nationally.
We are proud to be part of the wider CAMH service in Dorset and all it has achieved in recent years, with its progress and developments being demonstrable. Currently our CAMHS community services are rated Good and our CAMHS inpatient unit is rated as Outstanding. We have been fast tracked by NHSE to deliver New Care Models providing a closer to home crisis home treatment service. We are also part of the national trailblazer to deliver Mental Health Support Teams in schools across 3 pilot sites in Dorset. In addition, NHSE have commissioned Dorset Healthcare to build a new state of the art 8 bed PICU.
We currently provide the following CAMHS services across Dorset:
6 Community teams
10 Bed adolescent inpatient unit
Dedicated CAMHS psychiatric liaison services within 3 acute hospitals -Out of Hours crisis service
Closer to Home Service
Discovery college
Peer specialists working within our community and inpatient teams
As part of the many exciting developments within CAMHS, Dorset HealthCare has set up a brand new 'Front Door' service to the current Core CAMHS teams, focusing on the assessment of young people and providing brief clinical intervention. Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team as a CAMHS Duty Practitioner. We have a full time position available working across both West and Weymouth & Portland CAMHS. The role of duty is to be responsive to the needs of Young People and their families when their Care Coordinators are not available. This role will also involve undertaking some urgent assessments which will include safety planning. In addition to this the duty worker will offer advice and guidance to partner agencies as needed.You will work closely with the wider team providing excellent quality of care ensuring high standards of clinical practice when working with all young people and their families/carers.
