Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to work as an Exercise Instructor within our mental health rehabilitation inpatient services.

This is a fixed term post for 18 months whilst we pilot a new way of delivering the exercise instructor role.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual who can work alongside individuals to improve their physical health. The work will include both group and individual sessions and will include gym assessments, programmes and support to access community activities.

There will be opportunity to develop exercise groups to meet patient's needs and you will be responsible for the gym on the unit.

You will need to have good communication skills to engage and motivate patients and work with other professionals within the hospital. Mental health experience would be advantageous.

You must have level 3 Fitness qualifications and be registered with CIMSPA.

Hours of work will be flexible to meet patients' needs and can be negotiated at interview.
