Job summary

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Therapy Lead to work for an outstanding Trust during a period of transformation, with proven commitment to collaborative working.

This advertisement invites applicants who are interested in a Band 7 Team Leadership opportunities for a 1 year fixed term position.

The Post is in Poole, and will include managaging the Inpatient Rehabilitation team at Alderney Hospital and The transition therapy team covering Figbury lodge and D2A bedded options.

The successful candidates will have proven ability in delivery of clinical interventions to adult/elderly patients in need of :

Urgent care to avoid admission to hospital, and/or

Rehabilitation and condition management for patients with long term conditions, and/or

Planning to support timely discharge of patients from an inpatient setting.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who will inspire and demonstrate leadership qualities through clear visible management. They will strive for continuous service improvement and will manage change through strategic thinking, use of negotiating skills, self-awareness and effective communication. Clinically they will be continually responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of specialist programmes of care. They will ensure adequate and safe staffing cover is maintained for patient care,act at all times as an advocate for service users, carers and relatives. They will be a driver for the D2A approach and continually aim to improve patient flow.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING

Essential

  • Registered health practitioner to degree level
  • Broad clinical and multi-agency knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Trust's Strategies

Desirable

  • Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training.

JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience as a registered practitioner at Band 6 level
  • Evidence of education and training in practice
  • Evidence of proactive involvement in the supervision and development of members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Practical experience of facilitating and managing change

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Previous clinical people management experience
  • Able to act as a clinical supervisor

  • Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.
