Job summary

The Retreat West based in Dorchester are looking for a motivated Team Leader.

The Retreats are part of the Trust's Access Mental Health Service, and have beenco-designed and are co-delivered with the Dorset Mental Health Forum, a local peer led charity. The Retreats offer an open access service for people in self-defined crisis and distress. The purpose of the Retreats is to provide a space for people to be listened to connect with others, access peer support, emergency services and brief interventions.

As the Team Leader you will be joining a multi-disciplinary team working with a range of stakeholders and promotion of the service across Dorset. The role will require flexible working, to balance some work time during which the Retreats are operational in the evenings, and time during core working hours in the day. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Trust staff, and in partnership with Dorset Mental Health Forum.

We welcome applications from those with management experience looking for a new direction or those ready to take first team leader role. You will receive a full induction and will be supported with professional development and ongoing supervision and support.

The Team Leader post is a weekday part time post, consideration will be given for flexible hours with the minimum of three days.

Main duties of the job

To be continually responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of specialist programmes of care. To work with people in emotional and mental health distress and support them to find a way out of their immediate distress that makes best use of their own strengths and resources

To liaise with Forum Co-ordinator to ensure sufficient and appropriate Lived Experience alongside clinical expertise

To ensure staff from both organisations are equally supported and valued

To inspire and demonstrate leadership qualities through clear visible management, working with others, demonstration of personal qualities, continuous service improvement, and setting direction

To monitor performance against Care Quality Commission standards and where appropriate initiate action to ensure these standards are achieved and maintained

To establish excellent communication with internal colleagues and the wider community and promote partnership working
