Band 7 advance podiatrist - Permanent position working 30 hours a week

A rare opportunity has arisen for a passionate advanced podiatrist to join our well-established diabetes foot service in Dorset. This is a progressive service with two Consultant Podiatrists leading the in-patient and out-patient management of people with diabetes related foot complications. You will be working as part of the wider MDT, as well as providing expert clinical practice within the podiatry team. Your clinical work will be within the diabetes foot clinics at University Hospitals Dorset (Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals), but you will work closely with community podiatrists, community nurses and primary care teams. You will be able to demonstrate the four pillars of advanced practice, including non-medical prescribing. Opportunities for further studies will be available and encouraged.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join on a permanent basis working 30 hours per week. The Successful candidate will have outstanding organisational and planning abilities to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks, be able to demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills alongside a good sense of humour and high levels of resilience, being a team player with good IT skills. Main duties of the job

Will act as a clinical role model, working collaboratively to develop and deliver an ongoing programme of training and education for podiatrists and Podiatry students on placement within the trust.

Will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care plans for complex diabetic foot conditions.

Will be a clinical expert in a specialist area within podiatry and provide "hands on" supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.

Will contribute to the development of departmental policies, guidelines, and scope of practice.

Will undertake audits and reviews of practice and policies within the unit.

Will collaborate with the other multi-disciplinary staff in the MDT at the UHD Diabetes Centres.
