Job summary
Due to internal promotion an opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the multidisciplinary Purbeck Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team.
The post would suit a therapist with a commitment to integrated working with a passion for promoting rehabilitation, occupation and function as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation pathway. Training can be provided to develop any areas of specific clinical interest for both newly qualified and experienced band 5's. Professional support from experienced Band 6 therapists, access to the Trust's Preceptorship programme for newly qualified therapists, clinical supervision, and regular in-service training are just some of the benefits of working as part of this team. The other benefits involve working in a beautiful area of Dorset as part of a busy, friendly team, who are co-located with social services and community matrons which offers further scope for training and development.
Main duties of the job
The post will involve assessment and treatment of patients in both a community and inpatient setting (Purbeck locality and Swanage Community Hospitals) to prevent avoidable hospital admissions, promote earlier hospital discharges and rehabilitate a wide variety of conditions. The caseloads comprise of a mix of orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory and elderly care, so offer an opportunity to gain therapy skills across diverse patient groups.
The hours of work are flexible and would include being part of a rota at weekends and bank holidays once competency is achieved for this. We would consider applicants who are willing to work either part time (minimum 22.5 hours) or full time, 37.50 hours per week.Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
