Job summary

We are looking for an inspirational Team Leader who would like to join our largest community CAMHS team.

The post is offered on as a full-time 37.5 hours permanent basis.

As Team Leader you will work alongside the other Team Leader and the Clinical Services Manager in leading the service and ensuring that the highest quality of care is delivered to children and families. You'll be part of the Senior Leadership Team and have the opportunity to influence Team and Service development.

Main duties of the job

1. This post will form part of the Bournemouth & Christchurch CAMHs senior leadership team which will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and services for children and young people with mental health problems and their families.

2. The post holder will support the Operational Service Manager and Clinical team to provide inspirational leadership of multidisciplinary clinicians to ensure effective, evidence based assessment and treatment, accessible care pathways and a culture of continuous quality improvement.

3. The post holder will be accountable to the Operational Service Manager for aspects of service delivery, bringing together all component parts to ensure robust patient safety, improved patient experience, clinical outcomes, quality and performance standards. S/he will deputise for the Clinical Team Manager when required.

4. The post holder will support the clinical development of team members to provide services that are accessible and responsive to needs.

5. To promote participation of service users and carers in their own care and in the planning and development of services.

6. To have oversight of referrals in to the Service.

7. To take clinical and some line management responsibility for clinical staff ensuring they deliver a high quality, young person focused service.

8. Work in partnership with Local Authority Colleagues - attending strategic multi-agency LA meeting, complex needs panels.

Knowledge, skills and training

Essential

  • Post graduate degree level study or equivalent in relevant profession.
  • Current registration with appropriate professional body, e.g. NMC / HCPC / UKCP
  • Core professional qualifications as Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Applied Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with young people their families and carers.
  • Experience working with patients in crisis and providing duty cover
  • Experience of assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care, for young people
  • Evidence of leadership and service development
  • Ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessment and implement risk management plans.
  • In-depth experience of working in mental health services where multi- disciplinary working was embraced as part of service delivery.
