Are you ready to make a real difference this winter?We're looking for experienced Band 8A Clinical Pharmacists to join our friendly and forward-thinking pharmacy team, at either Wexham Park Hospital or Frimley Park Hospital

This bank opportunity will help cover service gaps across our Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Medical Unit (AMU) during the busy winter months, a time when your expertise will make a real impact on patient care, safety, and flow.

You'll play a key role at the frontline of acute and emergency care, optimising medicines, supporting safe prescribing, and ensuring patients receive the right treatment at the right time. Working closely with doctors, nurses, and other pharmacists, you'll help keep our departments running smoothly during peak demand.

We're looking for confident, proactive pharmacists with strong clinical knowledge in acute or emergency care, who thrive under pressure and work well in a multidisciplinary team. You'll be a positive leader, supporting junior colleagues and driving improvements in patient safety and experience.

Main duties of the job

Work closely with senior pharmacists, clinicians, and nursing teams to deliver and develop high-quality pharmaceutical care across either Wexham Park or Frimley Park Hospital.

Provide a proactive clinical pharmacy service within the Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Medical Unit (AMU), supporting safe and effective use of medicines, optimising therapies, and contributing to improved patient flow during winter pressures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing pharmaceutical care needs and developing care plans.
  • Providing medicines reconciliation, optimisation, and discharge support.
  • Advising medical and nursing staff on prescribing and medicines management.
  • Counselling patients and supporting continuity of care.
  • Participating in ward rounds and cross-site pharmacy collaboration.
  • Acting as an Independent Prescriber within your area of competence.
