We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and forward-thinking nurse with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills to join our friendly outpatient fracture clinic team. This varied role offers opportunities to work across specialties, demonstrating and enhancing your clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities & Opportunities:

  • Utilize and develop skills in Orthopaedics, phlebotomy, and wound care

  • Training provided for applying boots and splints

  • Work alongside Plaster and Casting Technicians to support the Orthopaedic team

  • Mentor and support junior and new staff members

  • Manage your time effectively within a flexible shift pattern between 08:00-18:00

Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Orthopaedic registered nurse in an acute trust is advantageous

Main duties of the job

Situated in the heart of the Frimley Park Hospital, OPD Fracture Clinic and Plaster Room work hand in hand to cover the Orthopaedic Outpatients Clinics under the Orthopaedic Management. The Nursing Staff work in and alongside, supporting the Plaster Room, as well as running Clinics.

These clinics can be either Elective or Fracture, meaning they cover a range of injuries at multiple stages, from either the GP or from E.D.

Under the management of the sister and Matron, the Staff nurse must oversee the clinics and lead Junior staff as the NIC to support the Drs in Clinic.

You will be expected to demonstrate high standards, displaying a variety of expert clinical competence, role modelling, clear professional and organisational values in leading OPD areas, additionally supporting the Senior team.

You will be nursing within the Fracture Clinic and Plaster Room setting, working at least 3 long days, 8am to 6pm on any day Monday to Friday, or 4 /5 shorter shifts to cover staffing demands
