Job summary

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Workforce/Rota Coordinator (Band 5) to join the Medicine department at Frimley Park Hospital.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing medical rotas and workforce planning to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

This is a full-time, permanent position, providing an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills while working in a dynamic and collaborative team.

Main duties of the job

The Workforce/Rota Coordinator plays a critical role within the Medicine Directorate, working closely with the Operation Manager, to ensure the smooth and efficient management of medical rotas. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of patient care by ensuring clinical activities are adequately and consistently staffed.

Key responsibilities include managing and scheduling rotas for both elective and non-elective clinical activities, ensuring all shifts are covered to meet service demands. This includes overseeing on-call rotas to maintain service continuity and patient safety.

The post holder is responsible for coordinating annual leave, study leave, and other absences for all grades of medical staff, ensuring appropriate cover is arranged to prevent disruption to clinical services.

Additionally, the Workforce/Rota Coordinator supports recruitment processes, working with the Operations Manager and HR to address workforce gaps promptly. They also contribute to workforce planning and ensure compliance with rota regulations and working time directives.

This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with consultants, junior doctors, and administrative teams. By effectively managing rotas and staffing, the Workforce/Rota Coordinator helps deliver safe, high-quality care while supporting the operational goals of the directorate.
