We are looking to appoint a specialty doctor in anaesthetics with an interest in:1. General Anaesthesia and perioperative medicine2. Trauma and Orthopaedics3. Obstetrics and Gynaecology
The jobs are full-time posts.
Main duties of the job
The post has arisen to meet the demand driven by the expansion of theatre activity andretirements.
Job Planning:
The Job Plan will be a prospective agreement between the appointee and the chief of service, that sets out a specialty doctor's duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of a specialty doctor's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research and education and managerial responsibilities. It provides a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition, itincludes personal objectives, including details of links to wider service objectives, anddetails of support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives.
Changes having budgetary or contractual implications would also need the agreement ofthe chief executive.
One half day per month is dedicated to audit and teaching during which time all routinework is suspended. All staff are expected to attend except for those providing emergencycare cover and those on leave. The directorate meeting is also held at this time. It isassumed that every member of the department will play a full part in formal and informalteaching of medical and other staff, and this is recognized as part of SupportingProfessional Activities (SPA).
CPD/ Study Leave:
All members of the department are encouraged to take study leave and will be expectedto undertake CME in line with the Royal College of Anaesthetists CPD requirements.
CPD is encouraged in the department, and we support individuals looking to expand theirroles into teaching and management and to pursue CESR
On-Call Commitments:
There is no on-call commitment.

Frimley Park Hospital is now a part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust which was formed in October 2014 following the acquisition of Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Foundation Trust by Frimley Park NHS Foundation Trust. Frimley Park Hospital is a busy 700 bedded district general hospital and is a tertiary referral centre for Vascular Surgery, Stroke and primary PCI. It has a large and expanding Obstetric service. There is also a large Orthopaedic Department, including Spinal Surgery, as well as a large Colorectal Surgical Unit within the surgical directorate. There is a state-of-the-art Emergency Department, complete with a helipad and a keen focus on trauma care. These reflect the Trust's objective of providing hyper acute services to the local community.
Frimley Park Hospital was the first hospital in the country to be awarded an 'Outstanding' rating by the CQC under its new inspection regime.
