Job summary

Finished your Foundation jobs but don't yet know where your future career lies? Think you want a career in Emergency Medicine but don't feel ready to start the formal six-year training pathway? Finished core training but don't want to commit to higher training yet? Do you want some Emergency Medicine experience before continuing your future career path? Then this job is for you!

Our consultants are dynamic, and enthusiastic about teaching. Teaching board rounds are held twice daily and senior doctors are always on the shop floor to provide input on clinical cases. Formal teaching takes place once weekly in protected time. You will have a named Educational Supervisor within the department who will discuss your training needs with you, and you will be supported by the department in working towards membership exams if this is your aim.

We listen and have responded to feedback and our junior doctors' rotas have been recently redesigned to optimise work-life balance for our staff as well as allowing doctors to work as teams in the ED, something which is very popular with our current cohort.

Many of our previous Foundation doctors return to work at Frimley Park ED after their rotation is over. Come and find out why...

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work on the ED junior rota full time and in all areas of the ED at FPH including Resus, Majors, Ambulatory and Paediatric ED.

There are opportunities to learn practical procedures, work as part of life-support teams in resus, contribute to quality improvement and gain a broad experience in emergency medicine as part of the FPH ED team.
