Job summary

Acute Medical Unit is a 42 bedded assessment unit that cares for general medical and older persons. Ambulatory Emergency Care unit is same day emergency service whose aim is admissions avoidance and still provide urgent emergency care.

We are looking to employ ward clerk Team Leader to support the reception team on both AMU and AECU. You are required to work weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) on the desk and have management days on weekdays.

The applicant will be expected to be able to work well as part of a team and can multi-task, manage own time, and prioritise workload effectively.

The role of a ward clerk requires good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on own initiative.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide administrative cover for both AMU and AECU, and to perform general receptionist duties.
  • To provide clerical assistance to the senior sister.
  • To process patient documentation and liaise with ward staff to resolve any problems.
  • Key tasks would be updating EPIC and assisting with data collection.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of general ward supplies, EROS requests and stationery.
  • To ensure that the supplies are neatly arranged in cupboards.
  • To support the department with completing staff performance appraisal; allocate roster; approve annual leave and sickness management.
  • To undertake any other duties relevant to the post.
  • Highly vigilant of patient's privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Successful candidate will be friendly and has excellent customer service.
