We are seeking to appoint (x2) Specialist Grade Doctors in Anaesthesia. The jobs are full time posts comprising 10 Programmed Activities (10PAs).

Main duties of the job

These posts are based at Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals. We are keen to foster individual interests within Anaesthesia and will encourage continued development with a job planning review and appraisal.

With the introduction of the Specialist Grade in the 2021 contract, this has been seen as an opportunity to enhance our SAS team and ensure career progression is available for those who are motivated to attain the required generic capabilities.

Essential

  • Full GMC
  • Minimum of 12 years of medical experience since primary medical qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years as SAS grade or equivalent in anaesthesia in the UK.
  • FRCA or equivalent post graduate qualification in anaesthesia

Desirable

  • EDAIC
  • ALS/APALS
  • Intensive care qualifications
  • EDRA

Knowledge, Skills/ Attributes

Essential

  • Broad general experience in anaesthesia
  • Demonstrate ability to manage patients with complex needs whilst remaining aware of own limitations.
  • Understanding and experience of working in obstetric anaesthesia and Trauma anaesthesia

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the organisation of the NHS and the Government's agenda for its modernisation.
  • Ultrasound Regional anaesthesia skills
