Our focus on improving the Trust facilities and environment has created an opportunity for an individual to join a team of skilled trades people. You will provide an effective and efficient maintenance service to the engineering and electrical services plant, equipment and the buildings of the trust .
Main duties of the job
You will need to have experience of working in an engineering/building maintenance environment. You will have good customer care skills, and be able to work on your own initiative. A degree of flexibility is required as you will be required to participate in the on-call rota.
This role will be based Wexham Park Hospital site and community buildings in partnership with Frimley health foundation trust.

DIMENSIONS OF JOB:
To be responsible for the service, testing and diagnose repairs needed to plant and equipment, including ordering of parts and fitment, within the trust buildings and plant. Be able to calibrate advanced mechanical and electrical installations including electronics. Understand, interrogate and rectify faults on the Building Management System. Take part in an on-call system and provide the hospital with late shift cover and stand in for leave and sick. Safe operation of plant and systems, steam, water treatment and electricity.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Assist the Estates Supervisor with all aspects to PPM and SPM to provide a safe compliant environment for staff and patients.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Carry out maintenance and minor works on engineering plant, equipment and services.
2 Act as lead for direction and guidance with regard to electrical/ mechanical services for other craftsman within the department.
3 Carry out all duties in a safe and compliant way.
4 To assist/ advice personnel in relation to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM, SPM) issues within the lead roll.
5 To be self motivated and take control of any break down/repairs ordering new parts and keeping the team leader and supervisor up-dated with progress.
6 Keep training and registration up to date with regard to current standards and amendments.
7 To advise other department managers with regard to small electrical/ mechanical improvement/ project works and assist with budget costs for work under his/her supervision.
8 To be able to time manage work and actively record times to enable the department to meet the trusts set Tasks per man for ten hours.
9 To liaise with departmental managers with regard to shutdowns and interruption to service for works to be carried out by direct labour or contractors.
10 Participate in the departments on call.
11 Be available to work outside normal working hours.
12 To be actively involved in the training and development of staff including apprentices.
13 Participate in the trust appraisal system
14 To ensure an effective and responsive approach to customer care.
15 Carry out condition reports and report back with written report on plant and equipment to enable management forecast back log spend.
16 Understanding of HTMs 01, Decontamination, 02 Medical Gases, 03 Heating and Ventilation, 04 Water Systems, 06 Electrical Services.
