The Pharmacy Department at Frimley Park Hospital is a busy place but the team spirit, 'can do' attitude, and no two days being alike, make it an interesting and enjoyable place to work.
We are committed to staff development and establishing new professional roles. These include new ward based and clinic based roles.
This post is based at Frimley Park Hospital but some cross-site travel may be involved.
The standard hours of work are 09:00 to 17:15 Monday to Friday with the successful candidate expected to participate in the late night, weekend and bank holiday rotas.
Main duties of the job
We are offering a permanent Lead Education and Training Pharmacist role. The role involves managing the Pre-Registration Pharmacist programme and development of undergraduate training opportunities. Additionally, you will be involved in teaching medical students, training doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their education and training skills, whilst being supported by the Principal Education and Training Pharmacist

Essential
- Post-graduate diploma / MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Pharmacy degree (Master level 4 years)
- GPhC Registered Pharmacist (or equivalent EU professional qualification)
Desirable
- Teaching / Education qualification
- Independent pharmacist Prescriber, or be willing to complete training as Independent Pharmacist Prescriber
- Membership of RPS
- Higher qualification (E.g. MSc, PhD)
PROFESSIONAL/SPECIALIST/FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Experience of teaching MPharm students and/or pre-registration pharmacist trainees
- Significant and current experience of providing a UK hospital clinical pharmacy service at NHS AFC band 7 level or above
- Supervision of undergraduates in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy to acute medicine patients
- Protocol development
- Practical experience of audit
- Ability to change systems while taking into account the needs of others (change management)
- Evidence of up to date CPD in clinical pharmacy

- Experience as a tutor for pre-registration pharmacist trainees
- Supervision of audit or research projects (e.g. undergraduate, pre-registration or diploma students)
