Job summary

  • To act as a skilled practitioner and senior nurse within the Emergency Department to ensure that the highest quality of care is given to patients. Ensuring that all clinical practice is evidence based, in accordance with local and national standards for good practice.
  • To assist in the clinical management of the Emergency Department by ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources, and providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to the team.
  • In conjunction with the Clinical Matrons / Team Leaders and other Sisters / Charge Nurses facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility.
  • To take the lead on projects as appropriate.

In this role you must be passionate about working in a caring environment with patients and be committed to delivering high quality patient care. You will be able to use your clinical skills as well as taking part in the day to day management of the department.
