Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent IG skills to join our Information Governance (IG) Team.

The role will provide expert advice and guidance to the Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) staff in relation to the IG issues and the day-to-day management of BSPS services and information.

Your contracted base of work will be Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, however, the postholder will be required to travel to each BSPS site - Royal Berkshire, Ashford & St Peters, Royal Surrey and Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust sites.

Previous experience of working within an NHS organisation is required, as well as working to implement the Data Protection and Security Toolkit assertions.

The post holder needs to have a current in-depth knowledge of Data Protection, ideally with applicable qualifications as well as an understanding of the Freedom of Information legalisation.

You will need to have excellent IT skills, as you will be required to use a number of systems on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be hosted by Frimley Health, and work in collaboration with the IG leads in each partner of BSPS to implement, deliver and maintain a robust IG Framework across the BSPS network.

Frimley Health Information Governance Team provides knowledge and support to all staff across the Trust to enable them to meet the highest level of Information Governance good practice and legal compliance.

BSPS has been built from the SPS (Surrey Pathology Service) into BSPS (Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services) and manages over 6.7 million patient records annually. The partnership is made up of 5 partner organisations - Royal Surrey, Ashford & St Peters, Frimley Health, Royal Berkshire NHS Trusts and Surrey & Sussex HealthCare NHS Trust (SASH).
