Job summary

A vacancy has arisen in the Quality and Audit team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This will be a 12 month fixed-term/secondment role with a view to permanency.

This role is an exciting opportunity to influence the delivery of the Trust strategy and help us continuously improve.

Management of data is a key element of the role, and we are looking for an individual who has strong attention to detail and is able to support data quality.

There will also be a focus on supporting clinical colleagues to make changes that positively impact patient care and outcomes.

We are looking for a person who can help manage projects and also drive workstreams forward across the Trust.

This is a cross-site role and will involve being based at Frimley Park Hospital, with travel to Wexham Park Hospital required occasionally.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who can proficiently manage cross site projects that align with the Trusts national and local audit programme and /or quality strategy. They would be requiredto support leadership with Trust-wide change and continuous quality improvement and welcome responsibility for specific clinical audit functions throughout the Trust to promote clinical effectiveness, including the search for, collation, analysis, preparation and presentation of audit results.

This position offers the opportunity to promote projects which arise from National/Regional/Trust/local priorities, and from Patient Safety & Risk issues whilst supporting the development of Trust wide and directorate level audit plan that reflects Trust / national priorities.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Part of cross site quality and audit team, coordinating/assisting in quality improvement and clinical audit projects working with clinical colleagues to understand and maximise appropriate audit activities
  • To train staff requiring clinical audit skills within the organisation and promote the agreed quality improvement methodology for the Trust
  • Liaise with all disciplines and levels of clinical staff and patients as required (External and Trust)
  • To design and develop proforma for new audit activity
  • To carry out retrospective and prospective audits (National and local), retrieving and screening complex and sensitive data from medical records and other relevant data sources and accurately record this information in accordance with clinical audit procedures and Data Protection Protocols, and Freedom of Information Act
  • To enter where required, analyse and summarise data for overview by clinical staff requesting audit information using databases and platforms as necessary
  • To produce and present statistics and document audit findings in report style and in presentations to influence clinical practice
