Job summary

The Pharmacy Department at Frimley Health Foundation Trust is a forward thinking and progressive department seeking to expand our current team to provide a patient focused, modern hospital pharmacy service to the Trust. We have an active technician training programme and a proven track record in staff development. We are looking to recruit a pharmacy technician with great initiative and flair to join our pharmacy team, to help develop our patient lead service. The successful applicant will need to be committed to self- development, have strong attention to detail with excellent dispensary and organisational skills and is able to work to tight timescales. Your support is vital to the continuing expansions of our patient focused pharmacy services.

An in-depth in house competency programme is delivered with the opportunity to complete a Supervisory skills competency to progress to band 5, with introduction and opportunities for line management training and experience for those band 5's who are looking to develop new skills.

You will need: To be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Main duties of the job

To undertake duties of a technical nature in all aspects of the pharmaceutical service in a manner which ensures a quality service to patients and promotes the safe, effective and economical use of medicines in patients being cared for by the trust.

The main duties will include accurate labelling and dispensing of prescriptions including controlled drugs, clinical trails and chemotherapy drugs, maintaining stock and completing a Medicines Management Technician service in clinical area(s), supporting with maintenance of Omnicell Drug Cabinet including par levels, top ups and cycle counts when needed.
