Job summary
A rare opportunity has become available for a Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient therapy team at Farnham Hospital. Within this community hospital setting you will be providing rehab and support to patients and be pivotal to their recovery and treatment. You will be hands-on delivering delegated therapy to patients, building relationships and supporting them to have their best chance at recovery.
With professional supervision from an OT and/or a Physio you will receive opportunities to consolidate your knowledge and to progress and undertake training relevant to your role.

To work under the indirect supervision of health care professionals in the provision of high quality clinical care and rehab
Ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals
Carry out a range of clinical and non-clinical duties

Job responsibilities
Provide rehabilitation and care to patients according to the care and treatment plans.
Promote patient independence.
Observe and report all changes in patients condition to relevant professionals, so that appropriate actions can be taken, recorded and acted upon. To seek advice in this situation and also in progression of specialised programme of treatment or if uncertainty in how to proceed.
Assist in the emergency resuscitation of patients as per Frimley Health Resuscitation Policy.
Undertake safe and effective moving and handling and positioning skills. This may include use of specialist equipment.
Demonstrate empathy and skill in working with all patients.
Complete Band 3 core competencies within the first six months of employment.
Promote and demonstrate effective communication at all times with patients, users and providers to the service., including those with communication difficulties and cognitive impairment.
Record and report information in a timely and accurate manner, in line with policies and standards including statistical data.
Maintain good relationships with all members of the therapy team and wider MDT, in order that the best quality of patient care can be delivered, all are well informed and professionalism is maintained throughout the service.
