Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.

The on-call consultant is supported by a Tier 2 doctor and 2 Tier 1 doctors at night, and 2 Tier 2 doctors and 3 Tier 1 doctors during the day and at weekends. To support the middle grade rota the post has a weekly evening shift. This post is full time (10 PAs) but candidates wishing to work less are also invited to apply.

Paediatric Consultants on the Wexham Park site provide inpatient general paediatric and neonatal care at Wexham Park and outpatient services at Wexham Park, Heatherwood Hospital and St Mark's Hospital in Maidenhead. Tertiary specialist links are either with Oxford or London (GOSH) and the Evelina with regular outreach clinics for some specialties. Wexham Park Hospital is an acute site providing all paediatric inpatient facilities. The purpose-built paediatric department provides a bright spacious unified complex of children's ward, paediatric assessment unit, large indoor and outdoor play area, children's clinic and neonatal unit adjacent to the maternity department. There is an Ambulatory Care and Outpatient facility.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest Acute Trusts in the South East, formed from the merger of Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey with Heatherwood and Wexham Park in East Berkshire in 2014.

The Trust provides inpatient services on three sites: Frimley Park in Surrey, Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot and Wexham Park Hospital in Slough. In addition, the Trust provides outpatient and diagnostic facilities at St Mark's Hospital in Maidenhead, King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor, Upton Hospital in Slough and within Bracknell Forest and the Chalfont's.

The latest CQC inspection in November 2018 rated Wexham Park Hospital as good overall. Safe, effective, caring and responsive were rated as good, well-led was rated as outstanding.
