Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Frimley Park Hospital. The post holder will join the five Consultants currently delivering the Diabetes and Endocrine service.

Main duties of the job
The service currently offers outpatient endocrine and diabetes services; antenatal, transitional and community clinics; a nationally recognized inpatient diabetes team; rapidly expanding technology service and high performing DAFNE course. We run local MDTs in adrenal, parathyroid and complex thyroid disease and are a member of Kings College London Pituitary MDT. We also provide the hub for diabetic foot care with the vascular and orthopaedic team. A subspecialist interest will be encouraged and experience in or enthusiasm for antenatal care, technology or diabetic foot medicine would be welcome but is not essential.
We are keen to allow you to develop skills outside of the speciality and current post holders also hold positions such as RCP censor, Foundation year 2 Programme Director and Director of UG Education and have been involved with NICE, NCEPOD and JBDS guideline review platforms.
The Medical Directorate provides hyperacute cardiac and stroke services to large areas of Surrey, North Hampshire and Berkshire. We also provide on site renal dialysis. Medical care at Frimley Park Hospital was rated outstanding by the CQC in 2014.
About us
The successful applicant will be involved in providing general medical services to patients on the endocrine and general medical ward and participating in the acute general medical on-call rota. This is currently 1 in 8 weekends and 1 in 24 weekdays.
Applicants should have a CCT in Diabetes Endocrinology and General Medicine, or be within 6-months of achieving this at the time of application.
