Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Children's Nurse to join our team of Matrons, focussed on leading our outpatient nursing services. You will be joining a supportive team who really care for each other and support one another to drive brilliant care in our department.
The successful nurse will be working across our sites supporting Children's Ambulatory Care & Outpatient clinics on our acute sites, Children's clinic at Heatherwood Hospital, and our clinical nurse specialists.
You will have experience of working in outpatient settings, perhaps as an outpatients nurse or in a specialist nurse role, with a good understanding of how outpatient services integrate with acute services. You will be able to quickly build strong working relationships and will have some experience in working with multiple teams.
You will work closely with your peers to develop and deliver outstanding nursing care to our patients no matter where they come in to our department.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the Children's Outpatients Services. Taking responsibility for the nursing and support teams within the department and the clinical nurse specialists cross site.
They will be easily identifiable, provide strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. Emphasis on the areas of Patient Safety, Patient Experience, User engagement and Clinical Outcomes will be essential.
