About us
Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals - Frimley Health
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Departments of Wexham Park and Frimley Park hospitals are separate entities, with separate on call rotas at the hot sites but overlap at the Heatherwood hospital cold site for elective surgery. The T&O Department of Wexham Park hospital therefore largely serves the northern part of the Trust catchment area, although there is increasing overlap and clinical integration between sites.
As part of an extensive £200m investment programme Trust-wide, Wexham Park has benefitted from a new Maternity Unit, parking facilities and a £50m new Emergency Department build. In addition, building work has commenced on a £100m state-of-the art elective treatment centre at the existing Heatherwood hospital site, the majority of which will be dedicated to Orthopaedic surgery and is due to open in March 2022. Within T&O a new dedicated Fracture Clinic area and Virtual Fracture Clinic are under development.
