Job summary
Applications are invited for a replacement Consultant post (10PA) with the Stroke team in the Department of Medicine at Frimley Park Hospital, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to deliver stroke care across all areas of the stroke pathway.
Frimley Park Hospital has a 12 bed Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) and 16 bedded Acute Stroke Unit (ASU). Hyperacute Stroke, Acute Stroke and ambultatory High-Risk TIA care is all provided from a single location in Camberley. We run TIA, six weeks follow up and six months review clinics.
To this end we are seeking to recruit well trained and motivated applicant who is able to contribute energy, quality and ideas to this important clinical service as well as aiming to maintain and improve our current SSNAP rating and the postholder to participate in the Network rota.

- CCT in Elderly care medicine, GIM, Neurology, or Acute Medicine (or within 6 months of achieving at the time of application)
- CCT in Stroke
- Full GMC registration

- Higher degree e.g. MD, PhD, MSc
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES FOR ROLE

- Evidence of ability to evaluate own clinical practice
- Examples of ability to organise and develop service provision
- Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and the requirements of Clinical Governance and Audit.

- Undertaken a Leadership programme.
PROFESSIONAL Specialist Experience
Essential
- Ability to deliver inpatient and outpatient Stroke medical care.
- Ability to deliver stroke thrombolysis.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Previous experience in participating in under graduate and post graduate teaching
- Understand principles and participated in audit activity
- Ability to organise and manage day to day service delivery
- Ability to manage and lead strategic developments in service delivery
