Job summary
This job is for a Locum Consultant (6 month fixed term contract) in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery with a special interest in Hand & Wrist Surgery.The job comprises of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) plus on call and is based at Frimley Park Hospital although working on other Trust sites (for example, Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot) will be expected.
We have an opportunity for a Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics to join our existing consultants and accompanying junior staff. With proven experience in training, you will be required to have a sub speciality interest in hand & wrist surgery to assist in responding to increased demand and achieving service targets as well as the management of major trauma.

Main duties of the job
To provide a full Trauma and Orthopaedic service with a special interest in hand and wrist surgery, trained to fellowship level, predominantly for the local catchment population.
The appointee should demonstrate training and continued interest in the management of major trauma.There will be access to a medical secretary and an office.The basis of the post is 10 programmed activities; 8.5 PAs of Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 PAs of Supporting Professional Activities (SPA). The post holder will be expected to see new patients as well as operating on patients from the waiting list, therefore sessions will be a mixture of fixed and flexible
