Job summary

Based at Caravelle Ward within Crawley Hospital, we have job opportunities for experienced administrators in both full and part time roles (full time 37.5 hours per week, part time 15 hours per week). Both positions are permanent and will be supporting the Clinical, nursing and therapy teams working on the Intermediate Care Unit.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are to provide administration and clerical support within the intermediate care unit (ICU), to provide solutions to routine concerns or questions regarding services provided and escalating these to more senior staff members as necessary.

To assist the ward manager in putting in place and reviewing office and administrative procedures.

The ordering , tracking, checking and receipting of supplies in line with set protocols and procedures.

To be the point of contact and act as SystmOne champion, disseminate new information and ensure staff are made aware of any changes within SystmOne,

To liaise with senior nursing staff and the ward manager to update HealthRoster and to assist with booking and recording appropriate bank cover where necessary.

Take minutes and circulate agendas for ward and other meetings as appropriate.

Take an prominent role in the recruitment, induction and retention of new staff . Ward Administrators are expected to be able to prioritise their workload, and remain calm under pressure as the ward is often very busy.

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and or experience

  • Ability to maintain and record data accurately
  • Ability to write a report and keep accurate notes
  • Ability to work independently within defined parameters
  • Organises own workload to achieve deadlines.
