Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic colleague to take on the role of Specialist Early Years Practitioner, to join Worthing Child Development Centre, Worthing Hospital.

Main duties of the job

This permanent role will involve working as part of the multidisciplinary community health teams based out of the CDC. The successful candidate will be directly supporting and working alongside the nursing team, working closely with the paediatricians, safeguarding team and therapy staff, and have regular communication with nurseries, health visitors & Social care agencies.

Offering support directly to families and children with disabilities is highly rewarding and the work settings are varied, including delivery in the CDCs, and in patients' homes, nurseries and schools.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Post qualification EYE working in a children's setting or community setting.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary / professional / agency working
  • Ability to demonstrate highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organise own workload and delegate when appropriate

Desirable

  • Ability to competently use computers including software such as word, excel, power points and proficient use of electronic patient record systems
  • Understanding and knowledge of additional health conditions such as Autism
  • Ability to provide training and teaching in the area of child development and disability
  • Ability to demonstrate application to service improvements

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification (E.Y.E) (post 2014) or equivalent. (B.Tech Diploma/NVQ/Cache/City and Guilds)

Desirable

  • Level 5 Early Years - Foundation degree or equivalent

Additional requirements

Essential

  • UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Must be a car driver and should hold a driver licence and be able travel across the trust area to regular meetings.
