Job summary

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our MDT as a Band 7, based out of Westhampnett Child Development Centre in Chichester. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and forwards thinking OT to support clinical leadership to a friendly, experienced OT team alongside their peer OT lead already in post. Your clinical work will support service delivery to children and young people from 0 to 19 years of age. Our work is variable and delivered across the outpatient clinic setting, patient homes, early years setting and schools.

You will be joining a highly experienced MDT, working closely with the medical team, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language therapists, children's nurses and specialist early years practitioners. We have a supportive and highly skilled administration team working alongside the post holder.

Our work involves close partnership liaison with external agencies including education and social care.

We will consider supporting a developmental role for B6 to B7 position.

Main duties of the job

Clinical lead responsibilities for own complex caseload and support of OT colleagues to support their caseload management, including registered and unregistered workforce.

Service development and delivery of OT service for children and young people as per our service specification with the tiered model of service provision (targeted specialist and universal approaches). We are keen to develop innovations within these areas.

Supervision of others and own supervision planning e.g. peers and with your line manager and / or professional lead OT.

Liaison and working group involvement to develop the service across the wider SCFT child development service's i.e. sharing of good practice and innovation to benefit all CDCs.

Triaging of referrals

Managing wait times for your service

Planning and supporting appointment / clinic scheduling to run service delivery in an adaptive and responsive manner

Safeguarding

Delivery of In Service Training and receiving IST

Team meetings

Support CPD and pillars of practice in line with HCPC registration

Audit and quality improvement initiatives

Coordination of joint service delivery and innovations

Student placement support

Recruitment involvement for OT team
