Job summary
You will be working as a part of a friendly and experienced multidisciplinary team who are passionate about their work in falls and fracture prevention service.
Main duties of the job
a) To assist the clinical team to treat a caseload of older people who have fallen or may be at risk of falls and osteoporosis.b) The Falls Specialist Technician will provide a mixture of general and specific care to a group of patients and will be proficient and competent to work at a higher competency level than a Falls Specialist Assistant. They will work alongside a registered nurse and allied health professionals.c) The post holder will be expected to have Foundation degree in Health and Social care. They will also become proficient and competent in their area of practice by undertaking Postural Stability Instructor/Otago qualifications.d) Triage referrals to the Osteoporosis and Falls Prevention Service usingdepartmental protocols with support from a senior clinician.
e) To provide programmes of care including group programmes as set out byclinicians in treatment plansf) To assist the clinical team to deliver the Osteoporosis & Falls Prevention Service across Brighton and Hove in a variety of setting, including clinics and the patients' own homesg) To maintain clear concise and legible documentation adhering to standards in accordance with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Nursing and Midwifery Council, College of Occupational Therapy guidelines and trust policies.h) To be able to work without being directly supervised but with immediate access to a physiotherapist/other clinician on site or by telephone
