Job summary

The finance team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to advertise a vacancy for a finance apprentice. The vacancy has arisen due to the promotion of the current post holder.

The successful candidate would be expected to study accountancy qualifications as part of an apprenticeship

The role would suit a recent graduate. Applications also welcomed from candidates who expect to graduate in 2024. Other entry routes / qualifications considered.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Provide accounting support within the Finance Department, particularly in the areas of accounts payable, payroll and monthly financial reporting
  • Assist in providing efficient and high quality financial support to service managers and the wider organisation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to colleagues as well as to clients and suppliers external to the Trust

  • To liaise with suppliers and budget holders to help resolve queries and to facilitate prompt payments of invoices so that supplier payments can be made within agreed contract terms.

Payroll

  • To support the smooth operation of the payroll service by assisting the Payroll Gatekeeper in resolving pay related queries and issues and in managing the relationship with te payroll provider
