Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Palliative Care Team. We are looking for a motivated Clinical Services Manager to operationally lead the NHS Midhurst Macmillan Service.

Itis based in the rural town of Midhurst covering parts of West Sussex, Hampshire, and Surrey. The Midhurst Macmillan Service provides expert advice, support and care to patients and their families when they have complex needs arising from a life-threatening illness. The service is provided for patients in the community healthcare setting or within community hospitals and nursing homes.

This role is open to all with a bachelor's degree in a health, social care or related area of study and a postgraduate diploma in a relevant clinical or health service management area, or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience.

Main duties of the job

This award-winning team offers an active and responsive service to patients, enabling many more people to reach the end of their life in their preferred place of care.

As a Clinical Services Manager you will not only be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service, working alongside nursing and medical colleagues, but will play an integral role in the development of the service. Good leadership is pivotal to the success of the team, and you will receive the support to achieve this tailored to your personal needs.

The Macmillan Service is a busy one with varying demands and priorities. You will need to be flexible in your response to the changes and challenges and be able to prioritise your workload as required working both autonomously and collaboratively.
