Job summary
We're looking for a Band 2 Ward Clerk to support our team on Ferring Ward, Salvington Lodge Hospital. The Ward Clerk role is varied and you will be based on the ward dealing with enquiries from patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals on a daily basis. The role requires you to have excellent communication and customer care skills as you will be the first person to meet and greet visitors to the ward.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be computer literate as you will be responsible for booking patient appointments, and updating patient information to include real time admission, transfers and discharges. You will be working in a busy environment and you will be required to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. The ability to multi-task is essential. The nature of this post requires the post holder to be diplomatic, sensitive, and able to support the delivery of the best care possible for our patients.
Ferring Ward at Salvington Lodge Hospital is in Worthing with close links to other community inpatient services. We pride ourselves in caring for patients of all ages with a variety of complex medical conditions and those who have post-surgical rehabilitation needs. The post holders primary role will be to assist in providing a comprehensive efficient administrative system to the units multidisciplinary staff that ensures they are supported in their roles.
Working as a member of the team they will act as the main focal and central access point for communication within the unit and be responsible for collating and disseminating information and data that facilitates the day to day unit operation.
