Job summary

If you care about holistic healthcare and are looking for a new and varied challenge then then join us and be a pivotal member of our team. Time to Talk Health provides talking therapies to people with mild to moderate mental health problems associated with their long term physical health conditions. We're now looking for an experienced CBT therapist, mental health nurse, social worker or other healthcare professional who is skilled in identifying and managing patient risk to join our friendly team.

Our Risk and Referral Managers lead the development of our Duty management system, reviewing daily referrals while advising and supporting the team around risk and safeguarding, keeping patients and staff alike safe. You'll be in daily contact with patients and various healthcare professionals alike and if you're an IAPT CBT Therapist there's potential for you to also hold a small caseload and provide clinical supervision.

Working closely with the Senior Therapists and Locality Leadership team the post holder will be responsible for the organisation, oversight and delivery of the Time to Talk Health risk and referral duty system. This will include the organisation of a duty rota and provision of duty cover. This includes making referrals to secondary care and urgent care services, as part of ensuring effective and robust risk management and safeguarding processes in the service.

The post holder will require a thorough understanding of Time to Talk Health referral criteria and be able to communicate these to external agencies. The role involves screening referrals for suitability for the service, and being able to signpost to a wide range of other service where appropriate.

The post holder will be required to talk to patients in telephone 'call-backs', to ascertain any involvement they have had with secondary care or other specialist services and make rapid clinical assessment of patients deemed at risk escalating care as necessary.
