Job summary

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Transforming Cancer Services Team here at Velindre Trust.

As the Equipment Partner (Non partner) you will work as part of the project team for the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), under the direction of the Equipment Workstream Delivery Manager.

The post holder will be responsible for leading, influencing, and delivering work programs related to the non-clinical equipping of the nVCC. This includes planning, sourcing, and commissioning all non-clinical equipment necessary for the commencement of services within the nVCC.

The postholder will have in depth specialist knowledge and a good understanding of the supplier market in relation to non-clinical equipment used in healthcare.

A key requirement will be excellent communication and ensure that the equipment is readily available, properly maintained and in safe working condition to support the daily functions of the new hospital.

Main duties of the job

  • Configuration and Procurement: Determine the most beneficial configuration and profile of non-clinical equipment, provide market-ready specifications, and develop a forecast for new and replacement equipment.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Develop and manage the non-clinical element of equipment installation and commissioning program, serve as the lead interface with suppliers, and ensure up-to-date entries in the Project's Equipment Database.
  • Logistics Planning: organise logistic planning for technical and commissioning aspects
  • Change Programmes:Assist in preparing technical plans for clinical equipment.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate records using appropriate standards.
  • Liaison:Ensure smooth transitions between hospitals.
  • Supplier Coordination:Work with equipment suppliers to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Transition Support:Assist in the migration of non-clinical equipment to the new facility.
  • Installation: Assist in coordinating equipment installation and migration.
  • Maintain a detailed log of equipment movements, including check-ins and check-outs, ensuring equipment is accounted for at all times

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
