Job summary

This is a pivotal senior member of the Velindre Charity Team, responsible for organising and delivering the overall aims and objectives of the charity, maximising donations, engagement, and support.

The role holds a diverse portfolio and will lead the management and delivery of all regional fundraising undertaken by the Charity, expanding and embedding Velindre's Charity footprint, by creating inclusive and diverse opportunities for people to support the charity, whilst creating a network of stakeholders. The power of word-of-mouth marketing resides in telling an authentic story. This role will be a compelling voice to its audience of an authentic Velindre story, inspiring donors and supporters to back our cause, feeling part of a community working together to achieve a common goal and overcome challenges.

In addition, the role will be responsible for managing a delegated group of charity ambassadors and patrons, holding regular meetings and deploying them to support the charity within communities as well as at least one major fundraising programme area e.g. Arts in Health, Corporate Fundraising, Third Party etc.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Understand our strategic priorities and funding needs; to signpost supporters to our suite of donation products.

write compelling fundraising proposals, campaigns, materials, and case studies to acquire, develop and retain supporters across the fundraising portfolio.

create, plan, manage and organise a portfolio of fundraising events and activities to agreed budgets and targets in line with the overall Charity strategy, developing and managing new fundraising initiatives.

deal with all aspects of social media promotion under the guidance of the Charity Brand Manager and will produce plans to promote and recruit multiple fundraising activities.

produce and be responsible for income & expenditure budgets for each of your allocated activities, producing promotional plans and proposals for each, and following each activity, review, and highlight potential improvements for future events.

responsible for establishing, supporting and developing relationships with external fundraisers and key supporters to ensure that their fundraising is maximised financially and through increased awareness raising.
