Job summary

Velindre Cancer Centre is a division of the Trust, and one of the leading non-surgical oncology centres in the United Kingdom. The challenge is to go further and achieve the quality of services, patient experience and clinical outcomes that are comparable with the best in Europe and the western world. In support of this ambition, the Trust has facilitated the Transforming Cancer Services Programme, which sets out a compelling vision for excellence in South East Wales. Working closely with Welsh Government and Local Health Boards, the programme will consist of a number of projects which include the development of a new cancer centre (nVCC) in Cardiff, a Radiotherapy Satellite Centre in Abergavenny and the reconfiguration of outreach services.

The post holder will work in the nVCC Project as part of an equipment workstream, supporting the Transformational Change Director in delivering the workstream objectives and dependency link wider TCS Programme to deliver a new hospital in 2027. The post requires an individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience of working in healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

To Support on all equipment database related matters relating to the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC).

  • To establish a Baseline equipment database of the Trusts equipment.
  • To work across departments to identify and record an equipment inventory.
  • To establish good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To maintain the equipment database in discussions with departments and on behalf of the Equipment Workstream Delivery Manager.
  • To integrate the nVCC Equipment Bill of Quantities (BoQ).
  • To undertake regular quality control assessments and checks.
  • To provide update reports and supporting narrative to inform board reports
  • To provide forecasting and modelling for specific data requests.
  • To fully support the Equipment Workstream Delivery Manager, ensuring compliance reporting to the Director of Service Transformation.
